I’m Emma Wilson, the founder and creative director behind Story Of Your Day.
Originally from the UK, I started filmmaking career as a video journalist for the BBC. I began filming weddings 16 years ago. Now based out of Wengen, Switzerland, I travel all over Europe to film destination weddings – some of them small and intimate, others epic, multi-day events at breathtaking venues and locales.

Where to wed in France
Rustic, Charming French Castles
For something a little rustic with lots of charm I love filming weddings at Château Rigaud in Bordeaux. One benefit of getting married at a smaller French castle is that it can accommodate both you and your guests.
Other excellent choices are Château Pourtalès in Strasbourg and Château de la Beuvrière or Château du Puits es Pratx, both in the south of France.
Grand Châteaux
If you’re planning a larger event, you can’t do better than Château de Chenonceau in the Loire Valley. Or Château de la Roche Courbon, between Saintes and Rochefort. I’ve filmed large luxury weddings at both castles and they were simply stunning affairs.
Côte d’Azur Style
In the south of France you’ll find mediterranean-style hotels and châteaux with views of the sea. In the French Riviera some of my favourite locations have been the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat and the iconic Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez.
