A US Independence Day Wedding in the Heart of Yorkshire
Carol and Alex from California fell in love with Swinton Park in Yorkshire and instantly knew it was the place to hold their destination wedding.
Especially as Carol’s favourite grandmother, Violet, was from Yorkshire.
It was on July 4 2017 – American Independence Day – that Operation Yorkshire fell into place – a glorious, romantic occasion that we were proud to be part of.
Alex sent Carol a poem he had penned – ‘And so it is today’ – on the morning of the wedding and it fits so beautifully within their wedding trailer.
The couple met seven years ago on a first-date stroll along a Santa Monica beach – and have supported each other ever since… through family and friends’ weddings, births, divorces, deaths, graduations, and anniversaries.
As well as buying and rebuilding a house, long months apart for duty overseas, work challenges and a few house moves thrown into the mix, too.
We worked very closely with Carol and Alex during the build up towards their day because they were planning it from so far away and needed guidance, advice and recommendations from us.
We were more than happy to provide our support and feel so proud to have been chosen as the official videographer for their wedding at Swinton Park.
As Alex told us: “There are few things that we consider critical to this journey which will stay with us. One of them is the record of the day. Swinton provided us a list of people we could look at for videography including Story Of Your Day. When Carol looked at your website, she sat and watched the clips of weddings done there. Your clips made her cry!”
And, Carol and Alex’s wedding had us tearful. We absolutely loved filming their wedding and felt very much part of what they fondly called ‘Operation Yorkshire’.
