A ‘Smashing The Glass’ and epic interfaith wedding in Yorkshire
Ever wondered how to successfully blend two religions into one beautiful wedding ceremony?
Well Emma and Corey did just that with their gorgeous Jewish and Christian interfaith wedding that was not only a fusion of faiths but also of two continents.
Emma is originally from Yorkshire and met Corey, who was from Chicago on a cruise ship.
“We met at the pool bar. Corey was with a friend, and I was with my sister. We started talking after Corey, and his friend commented on our British accents. After that, we kept bumping into each other over the next few days; we enjoyed playing cards with Grandma Hilary, sunbathing (getting to know each other), and having drinks at the bar.
Eventually, my mum asked if Corey and his friend would like to join us for dinner on the last night. Corey and I spent one of the evenings of the cruise on the top deck under the stars – very romantic”, Emma told me.
After Covid postponed their wedding for many years it was absolutely fabulous for it finally to go ahead and their guests travelled from far and wide to celebrate their wonderful wedding in Yorkshire.
With it being an interfaith wedding there was of course two officiants including a very charismatic Rabbi.
I love the story that was told during the ceremony …
“Emma and Corey’s relationship continues to grow and they continue to fall in love. Simply, they are better together. They bring out the best in each other and they want to share their big day with the people they love. To them this is important, all of you are important to them so they could not imagine doing this without you guys …
… so this celebration of two lives is a celebration of two cultures, that are different but hold the same and similar values and beliefs.
It doesn’t separate them, it draws them together It attracts … So today we get to participate in a celebration of love for each other because of who they are”.
Emma and Corey told me that they love their baby dog George so very much and love taking him for walks or to the dog park together.
They also love traveling and have already been to many places, with many more trips on the horizon.
They chose Goldsborough Hall for their wedding location because they felt, on their first visit, it was so welcoming, the food was amazing and they were able to create a bespoke ‘package’ to suit them.
“We really wanted something intimate, private and in the beautiful English countryside.”
Their celebrations were held over two days and Story Of Your Day was there to capture it all.
