Disney Inspired Magical French Chateau Wedding
“Actually, the best thing you could have given her was a lifetime of adventures”
A favourite quote of Eve’s, which she says reflect her and Louis’ relationship perfectly.
This beautiful couple travelled to France for their wedding, taking their close friends and family with them to celebrate.
Their chosen venue was Chateau St Julien near Poitiers.
Louis and Eve met in school when they were about 12… they were always close but were never a couple. Eve says: “Louis was a bit of a chav you see.. actually a complete chav.”
After they left school they didn’t speak and went their separate ways until they were 19 and one of their mutual friends was leaving the area and had a leaving night out and they bumped in to each other and the same spark they had when they were 15 was still there. They were both single so started hanging out as friends and things quickly developed in to a relationship and have been inseparable ever since.
Their first holiday together was Paris and they fell in love straight away with each other and the city, “We love the laid back aesthetic it just stole our hearts so we went back every year for six years. So the first thing Louis said after proposing (on The Great Wall of China) was “Can we get married in France and go to Disney the next day” that sounded perfect to me so we started looking at venues near Paris and Disney…”
The Chateau was the first place they looked at and as soon as they got in the car to leave Louis said “That’s where we’re getting married” – he just knew and Eve trusted his instinct, it ticked all the boxes and had enough room for their small guest list.
It was a stunning day and a party from the beginning of the weekend to the end.
Before the wedding itself Eve, Louis and I went for an explore of the surrounding area in a 2CV – and that’s when we found these amazing corn fields, which I just knew would be the perfect location for their photo shoot the day of the wedding. Louis is also into classic cars, mostly Fords, but I couldn’t resist hiring a vintage 2CV for them… after all, when in France!
Here’s their wedding trailer
“We chose Emma from Story Of Your Day to film our wedding,” says Eve, “Because we thought the aesthetic of her beautiful wedding films resonated perfectly with how we saw our day.”
Continuing their lifetime of adventures, Eve and Louis will be honeymooning next year in Africa as Louis wants to see the gorillas in Rwanda and because they paid for the wedding themselves and are buying their first home together.
So the day after the wedding they went to Disneyland and then spent a week in Paris before returning to have a party with the rest of their friends and family in the UK.
